Some people dream big. Joseph Heß swims big.

An endurance swimmer with an appetite for extraordinary challenges, Joseph has already conquered two of Europe's great rivers — swimming the full length of the Elbe and the Rhine — and is now taking on his biggest adventure yet: swimming the Danube from Germany to the Black Sea. Covering around 2,850 kilometres across ten countries, the expedition isn't just about pushing human limits; it's also helping scientists create the first comprehensive microplastics map of the Danube.

What inspires us most about Joseph is that every challenge has a purpose. His adventures combine incredible physical endurance with environmental awareness, proving that sport can be a powerful force for positive change. Whether he's battling strong currents, unpredictable weather or swimming the equivalent of more than a marathon every single day, Joseph approaches it all with determination, humility and an infectious sense of adventure.
